Karate Christchurch events | October School Holiday Programme

The programme runs across three days and covers a broad range of skills.Children MUST have at least two terms of experience to attend.

Morning sessions: 9am to 12pm

These sessions will suit all levels and will cover a little history of karate and our club, some games and team challenges. This will be followed by training focusing on all basic skill sets, the first three kata, plus kumite skills and drills.

Lunch break: 12pm to 1pm - Sensei's on hand at all times.

Afternoon sessions: 1pm to 3pm

These sessions will be a more advanced session covering higher level kata as well as kumite skills and drills. The previous kata for the less experienced will be reinforced.

The emphasis of this course for the more advanced student is on development of all skill levels, development and awareness of the competitive environment and competition preparation. You will need to have all your competition equipment with you.

Through intensive kata practice the aim will be a higher level of competitiveness at all competition levels.

There will be a strong emphasis placed on the traditional karate ideals and philosophy.
